Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. She began her Broadway career in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford can be seen next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. The film is it is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The same team that created Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment proceeding in America in more than 100 years. She was the star of two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received the Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
